I am hoping to meet other family members there in Argyll. I am a direct descendent of Archibald Greenlee and Jane Giffen Greenlee who came to the sates in about 1775 from Argyll, Campbeltown. If anyone can help me in that area I would really appreciate it. Unable to find Scottish records here in the states.
My dream is to somday visit the land of my ancestors!!!
hi my names kate im from campbeltown and i was just remembering that my first teacher when i started school was a mrs greenlees. i wondered if she might be any relation of yours?. i see your surname doesnt have an s on the end i dont actually think hers did. that was just how we said it. i can ask my aunt who still lives there shes bog on local history and names. sure she,ll know. you have a nice day and il be in touch. x
Hi Kate...actually, we discovered that the original spelling was Greenlees. Somewhere onlong the line, with a deed dispute here in the states, the s was dropped off and thats how we became Greenlee. I would absolutely love any help you can give me....looking forward to heariing from you...
